Hello from Australia
southernshogi (1142) 2016-09-08 22:30
Hello,

I am an Australian who is just starting to learn shogi. I have previously played chess but at a very basic level.

I have downloaded an app to practice tsumeshogi called tsume para, which I am enjoying, and I am watching Hidetchi's videos. I am looking forward to playing some games on 81dojo once I have learned some more about strategy. What is a good time control for a beginner to start on?

Hi SydneyShuma, I live in Hobart but if I am ever in Sydney on a weekend I will be sure to visit.

ramalam, sorry to have missed your message. I haven't been playing much recently, but it would be great to play another Aussie on 81dojo, I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm logged in.

G'day southernshogi , nice to see another aussie here.

I think 15 minutes is the best time control .

Hopefully we can have a game sometime.

All the best with your shogi!

Thank you, Oekaki-san. I will try some 15-60 games soon when I have learned some more about shogi.

Hello,

I think that good time control is "15-60".
The beginner should think at long time.
Possibly it may be short in that time.
In that case, I recommend "30-60", but there are very few people playing a game in long time.
You are necessary for the friend playing together in that time.
So I recommend "15-60".

This is 81Dojo's web system for account and data management. The entrance to the shogi app can be found in the main site at https://81dojo.com.
