Hi, glad to be here. I haven't played in a few years but it hasn't taken me long to get back where I was, unfortunately I'm stuck in the same place I was before. I know a handful of castles, I can do a few climbing silver variants...but when I actually get my silver to the top...I'm lost against experienced players. Everybody I play seems to have an algorithm memorized for everything mid-late game. In the year or so total I've played this game I've only met great players who NEVER leave openings and destroy castles and beginners, no one ever seems to be on my level. How do I fix this? I currently don't have money for shogi books, so other than (much desired) pointers, and webpage links, would anyone have a link to an ebook I could read? I've only had Hidetchi's videos to work with.
