Paper Shogi set for mounting on card
I've been preparing a couple of hand-outs for use in a Shogi demonstration at a 'Japanese Culture Day' a couple of months down the road.
One of these is a set of templates for board and pieces and I thought it might be of interest to folks here.
You can find it at Dropbox location:

under the title 'Do-it-yourself Shogi Set.pdf'.
There are a couple of other Shogi resources there, but if anyone feels moved to look at the Shogi set, I'd be grateful for any feedback.
Thank you.

Good! Roger.
Tried again and got it! Must have been PC-internet trouble my end. It looks like it's a useful little thing to take with you for shogi demonstrations.

BCM, thank you. I think the problem may have been with the way the machine was set up - these public-access machines sometimes behave very strangely, this one certainly does not like working with Firefox (I have had similar problems before).
I hope that anyone who has downloaded these templates finds them useful! I made two sets yesterday in preparation for my demo, and they look pretty good (but then, I would say that, wouldn't I?).
Roger
Firefox is working very well. ;-)
But for those having problems, maybe Google Groups is working in a better way.
I've attached it to my latest post:

In this thread:

I guess, it should also work without login into google groups:

Later...
I just failed to access my own files while using a different browser on a different machine!
Maybe your problem is associated with your browser (though why that should be the case, I don't know)?
I was using Firefox on a public-access machine in the local library when it failed.
Don't know that I can offer any more advice.
Please let me know how you get on.
Roger.

Hmm! I'm a bit puzzled by that. I just checked it myself and successfully downloaded the file:
Do-it-yourself Shogi set.pdf
It consists of 4 pages:
1. a set of instructions
2. a 'wood-effect' background page
3. a Shogi board
4. a page headed 'Shogi piece templates – with one spare for each piece – four for the Pawns'
That last page has the piece images on it.
As a precaution, I've re-installed the file - all I can suggest is that you try again.
Thanks for your interest.
Roger
