World Shogi League
Starting January 2016, we will organize a "World Shogi League"

It is a on-line league for national teams with monthly matches, in an all-play all league.

The plan is 11 games pr. year, 3 players pr. round, but with the possibility of using more players throughout the season.
I here copy the invitation: Please cntact me if interested, or you have further questions.

World Shogi League

We are happy to invite you to the World Shogi League!

An online team-event played at 81.dojo.com.

National teams of 3 players.

All play all round robin with monthly matches.

Starting January 2016. Leagues will consist of 12 teams, equalling 11 yearly matches + possible play-offs.

Background:

In 2015 the World Shogi Tournament started as a Facebook group and gathered good interest with monthly matches.

We think its time to take it to the next level, and organizing it as a formal tournament, with a league structure of national teams.

Already 12 teams has signed up for the 2016 WSL, and thus its guaranteed the tournament will happen.

Hopefully with even more teams, in which case it will be split into 2 leagues either based on ranking or by drawing of lots with a later play-off between league winners.

The long-term goal is to have yearly leagues divided into divisions based on results with promotion/demotion between the leagues like in soccer etc.

After the deadline of registration, teams will be divided into the appropriate number of leagues, and the fixtures will be published online as well as send to the team captains by email.

The teams themselves will have to agree on the exact time of the match by direct communication between the captains.

A team consists of 3 players from the same country per match, but more players can be used during the season. Only limitation is either having citizenship or residency.

Each country can enter more than one team.

The tournament is free of charge, the organizers is responsible for updating fixtures standings etc., while the teams themselves for organizing the individual matches on 81.dojo.com

We look very much forward to the 1. season of the WSL starting January 2016!

On behalf of the organizing committee, Peter Heine Nielsen.
