> What does Static Rook, opposition and All-Rounder mean? If you are new to the game, it might be worthwhile considering buying a reasonably priced introductory book, if you don't already have one? 'Shogi for Beginners' by John Fairbairn, and 'The Art of Shogi' by Tony Hosking are both good - they both explain the difference between Static and Ranging Rook openings. There is a short (free) Introduction to Shogi (in Spanish) here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/i8qsilh7g56webl/Breve%20Introduccion%20Al%20Shogi.pdf?dl=0
