Shogi video lessons
Hi there.
I enjoyed a lot Hidetchi video on youtube.
Recently I started to watch Japan Shogi Ass. videos on youtube, but sadly I'm not japanese speaker.
So, I would like to know if there are videos even in japanese language, but at least with english subtitles.
It would be very appreciated.
Thanks all for eventual tips
Stefka
Unfortunately, the Japan Shogi Association page hasn't allowed community translations of their videos.
I would love to help participate in that, but unless they enable it on their page, youtube won't accept translations. I've sent them a message asking them if they could, but I'm not holding my breath for a response.
In the meantime, I've translated a couple of videos for the km km channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxgpk50_gckEHrHAvtN72dg) but he hasn't approved them yet.
Kmullin, thanks a lot for your link!!!
Shogi world ones are literally what I was searching for, and I didn't know them. Very useful.
Yes, I've already known shogi games by Hirom3, very very cool live commentary.
I hope for more study material in the future. It would be awesome if anyone could subtitle JapanSoghiAssociatiion videos, for instance :)

The Shogi World channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1xVrxY59WkAGenCBuFmdnQ) is subtitling some of Ageage's videos. Ageage is an ex-professional player apprentice. He left the apprenticeship (Shoreikai) in 2016 March at the pro-3-dan level. Ageage's channel is here:

He actually attempted to make 3 videos in English but he doesnt know enough English vocabulary yet. His real name is Shougo Orita (折田翔吾). He has a few games in the ShogiDB:

Oh, did you find Commentary Of Shogi Game's channel? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFsIutG1sElEAW-vLp6Snxg
Berni314, the reason why I wrote this topic it's because I coundn't find any japanese video with english subtitles.
I would like some links to them, because, HIdetchi's ones aside (which are very nice because in english language), I could not find any.
I read about a lot of japanese players who would like to "expand" shogi in the rest of the world....and I think that translating/writing subtitles to japanese videos should be their first choice :)
In my opinion, the advantage of teaching videos is that you can watch the position, while you can listen to explanation at the same time.
If using subtitles, you are mostly concentrated in reading, not able examining the board.
Using pause is my way of belonging to it.
But doing this, it's better reading books.
That's only my opinion - I know that others like using subtitles as you, too.
