Hello,
Good morning/ evening everyone :)

I'm just new to Shogi world, I do live in Middle east, and speak English well. Anyway, I don't know if there could be anybody in Middle East that would share Shogi.

Basically, I don't even know the rules well, and will study alone till I would find somebody I could share Shogi with.

What books, websites, or things I could have that would help me understanding the basics, and teach strategies as well ?

Looking forward to sharing your opinions :)

The absolute first place to start is Hidetchi's channel, which has a How To Play Shogi playlist (available here: https://youtu.be/Pkz0LVBg0W4?list=PL587865CAE59EB84A). It's great for beginning.

As you get the hang of that, you should check out the english Wikipedia pages on Shogi Tactics, which is surprisingly quite good and detailed (specifically the openings ['josekis'] and castles, but other stuff as well). Available here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogi_strategy_and_tactics

After you get a hang of that, and are looking for books on shogi, unfortunately there's not much in English, and what there is needs to be shipped from Japan, so can be expensive. But the site where you can get what is available is Nekomado (http://shop.nekomado.com/).

To get the hang of moves (and notation), this is a good english site for mate problems (Japanese 'tsume'). I learned to recognize pieces and their movements by setting them up on a real board and then solving the problem. http://japanesechess.org/tsume/

As a side note, I would convince a local friend to start learning shogi. The players on 81dojo are quite good, and it can be a bit discouraging for a beginner.
