Every time I log on the site, I'm at the very end of the user list. Is 81dojo mostly populated by shogi veterans or am I just a lousy player, lol!

>>5 danseur様 If you are looking for a space to improve and converse with other shogi players, I recommend my new club: https://system.81dojo.com/en/circles/677 I made this for the sole purpose of helping myself and other novice players improve at, and have fun with shogi. I hope to see you there!
> am I just a lousy player, lol! You are most definitely not. Perhaps there is an issue with how you view/play shogi that is affecting your development. I think it's more important that you focus on the quality of your games, rather than the ELO points you gain/lose afterwards. A good habit to get into would be to focus on analyzing lost games (most mistakes are made during the endgame and middlegame), and playing long time controls (15/60) to familiarize yourself with time management and deep thinking during games. Ideally, you should make sure you get out of the opening phase with a playable position, then focus your thinking time on the middlegame, where piece exchange occurs.
dont worry if you study and play shogi , you can win
@yamatoshogi: Ha ha, easier said than done! ^^
keep on winning and see what happens
Please don't worry about it. Rating points is a guide to determine Dan or Kyu. If you enjoy it, that's enough.
